Renewable Energy

Energy for everyone.

Renewable energy is energy collected from resources that are naturally replenished on a human timescale. It includes sunlight, wind, rain, tides, waves, and geothermal heat. Renewables provide a growing share of energy and electricity worldwide.

Renewable energy often displaces conventional fuels in four areas:

  • Electricity generation
  • Hot water and space heating
  • Transportation
  • Rural, off-grid energy services

Gas Power Plant

Energy for everyone.

A gas-fired power plant burns natural gas to generate electricity. Natural gas power stations generate almost a quarter of the world's electricity and a significant share of global greenhouse gas emissions and thus influence climate change.

Advantages:

  • Less water use because there is no need for a condenser
  • Low maintenance charges
  • Can be started quickly

LNG

LNG is the fuel for change.

Liquefied natural gas is natural gas cooled to liquid form for safe, non-pressurized storage or transport. It takes up about 1/600th the volume of natural gas in its gaseous state. LNG is odorless, colorless, non-toxic, and non-corrosive.

  • Reduction in carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions
  • Reduction in sulfur (SO₂) and fine particle emissions
  • Reduction in nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions

HFO Power Plant

Energy for everyone.

Heavy fuel oil (HFO) is a petroleum distillate or hydrocarbon fuel produced from crude oil. It is a cost-effective, reliable fuel used by power generators around the world.

Advantages:

  • Reliable long-term operation
  • Low operating and maintenance charges
  • Can be started quickly
  • Long service life
  • Low noise
